Master Page – definition

A Master Page is simply a page in your publication that is used as a template for other pages in your publication. Master Pages contain objects that you want to appear on every page that uses it, this has two distinct advantages: (i) it maintains a consistent look and feel to your publication; (ii) it reduces the amount of work required in building your publication.

Master Pages normally contain a background image, a border and navigation buttons i.e. things that you would want to appear on every page.
