Opus provides a variety of step-by-step guides called wizards to help you when building your publication. These can be found at the following locations in the Opus Editor, with a brief description of when you would use them.
Select the Tools menu at the top of the Opus Editor to open the following wizards.
The Startup Wizard – this wizard will appear when you first enter the Opus Editor. This allows you to create a new publication; create a presentation based on an Opus template; or open an existing publication you have already created in the Opus Editor. You can also open the Startup wizard whenever you want to create a new publication.
The Question Page Wizard – has now been replaced by the Question objects
The Animation Wizard – allows you to create animation effects for objects on a page. You can create Bounce, Follow Path, Fades, Rotation, Scales and other Special Effects for objects which can then be re-edited in the Animation wizard or through the Actions Organiser for the animated object.
The Distribution Wizard – allows you to create a standard Windows Setup program so that users can install a published version of your publication on their machine by following the Windows Setup program. The wizard can be launched after you have run the Published wizard.
The Upload Wizard – allows you to create a publication for distribution over the Internet. The wizard can be launched after you have run the Published wizard.
The CD-R Wizard – allows you to copy files to a CD-R or CD-RW without any additional software. The wizard can be launched after you have run the Published wizard.
Select the Publication menu at the top of the Opus Editor to open the Publishing Wizard.
The Publish Wizard – allows you to create a program that runs independently of the Opus Editor environment. This is called Publishing and there are several ways you can publish your publication: Standalone (i.e. EXE file); Web (i.e. HTML file); Web Adobe Flash version (i.e. SWF file); and Screensaver (i.e. SCR file).
Select the Components menu at the top of the Opus Editor to open the New Gallery Wizard.
The New Gallery Wizard – allows you to create a new Component Gallery with your own components. This is particularly useful if you are working on several publications that have a similar theme.
The Tools menu at the top of the Opus Editor also provides a Wizard Mode option.
The Wizard Mode – allows you to select if the Startup wizard will open whenever you create a new publication in the Opus Editor.
If the Wizard Mode option is OFF , the Startup wizard will NOT open whenever you create a new publication in the Opus Editor.
If the Wizard Mode option is ON the Startup wizard WILL open whenever you create a new publication in the Opus Editor.
