Database – definition

A Database is a collection of information that is stored in Tables. Each table is made up of records and each record is made up of fields containing the information. For example, a simple database may hold names and addresses in a Table named Customer. Each new customer would have a customer record. The customer record would contain fields to hold the customer’s first name, surname, street name, town, postcode, etc.

The fields of a record can be displayed on a page in an Opus publication by using the Database actions and variables.
