Framesets – definition

An HTML Frameset allows more than one web page to be opened in a web browser window at the same time. Many web pages on the internet are built using framesets. For example, you may have seen web pages that have a banner at the top of the page and a table of contents running down the left-hand side of the window and a main area to the right of the contents list showing the actual contents of a page – these types of pages are normally created using a frameset. In this example, the frameset is made up 3 frames.
