The fourth section in the Triggers tab is the Advanced palette. Creator can automatically have an action (or a series of actions) happen:
when a key on the users keyboard is pressed (i.e. Key Press trigger) or when the key is released (i.e. Key Release trigger) from the screen.
when the contents of an Creator variable changes (i.e. Variable Changed trigger)
when one object moves into the same space as another object on screen (i.e. Collision Enter trigger) or when one object moves out of the same space as another object (i.e. Collision Leave trigger)
when a Custom Action is activated (i.e. Custom Trigger trigger).
This menu provides a variety of powerful triggers that allow you to create advanced features within your publication.
For example:
the Collision triggers are often used to create interactive games;
the Key triggers for games and interactive kiosks;
the Variable trigger for background processing of data;
the Custom trigger when we haven’t provided a trigger you want!
As with anything in Creator, you will have to practice using these triggers to see the wide range of possibilities they provide.
