Windows Vista

Opus v6 runs under Vista, earlier versions of Opus do not and there are currently no plans to make earlier versions compatible. Most publications created in v5 or earlier will still run on Vista.

However, Opus relies on low level support in graphics cards and these are not always supported in new or legacy drivers as they tend to be used by games software and are not used by many business applications. Therefore some problems may arise on older systems which have been upgraded to Vista because the new drivers are not fully featured. Problems may also arise with particular graphics cards, especially built-in graphics cards on laptops.

If you are experiencing problems with an Opus publication under Vista please ensure the graphics drivers are up to date and that Vista and Internet Explorer are up to date.

If the problem is with video display try changing the video playback mode to Always on Top and/or try a different video format (change mpeg to avi for example). You can also disable the embedding video.

If you do need to contact support please ensure you let us know if the problem is on a laptop or a desktop and whether the machine has a native install of Vista or whether it has been upgraded.
